In the energy sector development, first of all, people play the crucial role on a par with the technology and innovative projects that matter a lot too. Our chief engineers, shift supervisors and even the deputy general director - head of generation came to the power plants as university and technical school graduates, trainees and interns. Therefore, we fully understand the importance of investing in future specialists - students and graduates of energy schools of Russian universities.
One of the universities we cooperate with is Ural Federal University named after B.N. Yeltsin in Ekaterinburg. On December 15, we visited UrFU having two important missions: the director of Sredneuralskaya GRES, Dmitry Geld, and the head of practice at the educational programs management department of UrFU, Elena Nechiporenko, signed an agreement on the practical training of students, granting industrial and pre-graduate practice opportunities at EL5-Energo PJSC branches to the students in the electrical and thermal power fields.
The second important reason for EL5-Energo team’s visit was a career day for the students of Ural Energy Institute of UrFU in a new educational and entertainment format. The students met with the representatives of EL5-Energo, including the director of Sredneuralskaya GRES branch, Dmitry Geld, and the company’s HR specialists. About 100 students learned about career opportunities at the production branches of EL5-Energo, and took part in a quiz and stand-up show, showing their creativity, sense of humor and ingenuity.
In a few minutes, the guys gathered into teams and created future energy projects, which they presented in a stand-up format. The most memorable were:
The competitions were fun and energetic, but the event did not end here. Then the students visited Sredneuralskaya GRES, where they saw the evolution of the electric power industry in the workshops that are already 88 years old. According to the guests of our power plant, observing the operation of units with a long history and the latest technological equipment makes us realize how important this process is - to generate electrical and thermal energy for the needs of Ekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk region.
“Our company understands the importance of interaction with the leading universities in general and with energy-profile students in particular for the successful development of our enterprise, as well as for the career guidance of the students themselves. This helps to solve many relevant challenges that the power plant and the company as a whole face. As part of cooperation with the universities, we attract talented young specialists to solve technological problems, which helps us to remain at the forefront of innovative development and replenish the enterprise’s knowledge base with fresh engineering ideas. Whereas the young employees get the opportunity to gain experience and realize their ambitious career plans. I really hope that we will soon see the participants of today’s event practicing at Sredneuralskaya GRES and becoming part of our team,” said Dmitry Geld, Director of Sredneuralskaya GRES.
Apart from Ural Federal University, EL5-Energo cooperates with Murmansk Arctic University, Russian State University of Justice, Ivanovo State Energy University named after V.I. Lenin, Kazan Energy University, Nevinnomyssk Chemical Technology College, Nevinnomyssk Energy College, Ekaterinburg Energy College, Ural State College named after. I.I. Polzunov.
We believe that our company's openness and interaction with students will help to develop new outstanding energy experts. Together we create not only energy for our cities, but also knowledge and inspiration for the next generation of idea-driven experts.
