EL5-Energo obtained a Certificate of Readiness for the heating season 2023-2024

Moscow, November 23, 2023 – PJSC EL5-Energo obtained a Certificate of Readiness for operation the heating season 2023-2024.

Obtaining of the Certificate of Readiness by PJSC EL5-Energo became possible upon the results of a comprehensive assessment of power plants of the company that was carried out in accordance with the Methodology of calculating the Index of Readiness of Power Plants equipment for the heating season approved by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. According to this Methodology, each power plant of PJSC EL5-Energo was rated by the Ministry of Energy based on the company’s indicators presented within the sectoral reporting, as well as data provided by the System Operator and Rostechnadzor. Special attention in the process of assessing the readiness of power plants for the heating season was paid to implementation of the maintenance program, technical condition of equipment, system and operational reliability, personnel readiness and fuel reserves. In addition, the assessment of readiness of the facilities for the heating season was carried out by the company’s internal committees.

Based on the results of the inspections, all power plants of the company: Konakovskaya GRES, Nevinnomysskaya GRES, Sredneuralskaya GRES, Azovskaya WPP and Kolskaya WPP were recognized as capable to carry maximum loads in the autumn-winter period.

The preparatory work carried out at the power plants was assessed by experts from the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. Based on the results of the assessment, the readiness index of PJSC EL5-Energo for the heating season was 99 (Ready).

The company's power plants developed and implemented a set of measures to ensure system reliability and process safety during peak loads and at low outdoor temperatures. Scheduled major and intermediate overhauls of main equipment, maintenance of auxiliary equipment, repairs of buildings and structures were completed on time and in full scope, a set of works of works on check and adjustment of heating systems of buildings, insulation and repair of glazing was carried out, the reserve of main, backup and ignition fuel was formed, the emergency reserve of spare parts and materials was completed. Hydraulic tests of the plant heating conduits, testing of the heating systems for river-water pump house intake, steam heating systems of circulation pump suction chambers, as well as maintenance and cleaning of of fuel pump filters and heaters operating in the district heating scheme were carried out.

In the course of preparation for the heating season, special attention was paid to the readiness of personnel: training and testing of knowledge were carried out in terms of compliance with health, safety and fire-fighting standards. In the course of special emergency training with involvement of specialists of Ministry of Emergency Situations and medical staff took part, actions for the correct response in emergency situations and low temperatures have been practiced on a quarterly basis. Provision of personnel with special clothing, safety footwear and the necessary personal protection equipment was checked at all power plants.
