Enel Russia obtained a Certificate of Readiness for the autumn-winter season 2020-2021

Moscow, November 10th, 2020 –Enel Russia obtained a Certificate of Readiness for operation in the heating season 2020-2021.

Being awarded the Certificate of Readiness was preceded by a comprehensive assessment of power plants of the company that was carried out in accordance with the Methodology of Calculating the Index of Readiness of Power Plants for the Heating Season approved by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. According to this Methodology, each power plant of Enel Russia was assessed on the basis of the company's data within industry reporting, as well as data provided by the System Operator and Rostekhnadzor. The indicators of readiness cover aspects of operational and system reliability, readiness of personnel, implementation of maintenance program, technical condition of the equipment, health and safety, fuel supply and emergency response activities. In addition, the readiness assessment of facilities for the heating season was carried out by the company's internal commissions, as well as within inspections of Rostechnadzor.

Further to the inspections the power plants of the company – Konakovskaya GRES, Nevinnomysskaya GRES, and Sredneuralskaya GRES were declared ready to operate during the winter period of maximum load.

A set of measures has been developed and is being implemented at the company's power plants, aimed at ensuring system reliability and technological safety during the periods of peak loads and in conditions of low outdoor temperatures. Maintenance activities are carried out at the power plants according to the schedule, a stock of main, backup and starting fuel has been prepared, an emergency reserve of spare parts and materials has been put into storage.

The staff of the company is provided with special clothing, safety shoes and the necessary personal protective equipment. During the year, training sessions and knowledge tests regarding compliance with health and safety, industrial and fire protection standards have been conducted with the power plant personnel.

In addition, crucially important technical measures were successfully implemented at all the production branches of Enel Russia, in particular:

Konakovskaya GRES; overhaul of block transformers with oil change, current repairs of gas facilities, inspection of the state of heating of equipment for outdoor switchgear-35, 220, 330, 500 kV, as well as revision of heating devices for air receivers of the outdoor switchgear. At the power unit No. 2, the “Sovetchik” software was introduced, which ensured reliable operation of equipment and rational water use. The second nitrogen adsorption station was put into operation. At the electrolysis station, the receivers were repaired, and the anti-corrosion coating was restored. A weight control unit has been put into commercial operation, necessary to carry out operations on the turnover with industrial waste most accurately. The technical re-equipment of the fleet of devices calculating water consumption at power unit No. 1 was carried out. A scheme for remote control of artesian wells was introduced for uninterrupted supply of heat and hot water to the city of Konakovo during the autumn-winter season 2020-2021.

Sredneuralskaya GRES; the gas turbine was overhauled with replacement of the hot section, the gas turbine generator was inspected, the steam turbine was also inspected, and its bearings were repaired, the gas turbine combustion systems were tuned. The overhaul of the turbine generator of power unit No. 6 was carried out along with the repair of the flow path of the turbine, control systems and steam distribution. Repair works were carried out at the heating complex of the power plant.

Nevinnomysskaya GRES; the gas turbine of the combined cycle plant (CCGT-410) was modernized, which led to an increase in the capacity of the equipment. Power units 11 and 7 were overhauled, including more than 100 types of works on the main and auxiliary equipment. In addition, current repairs of power units № 6, 8, 9, 10, turbines № 1, 2, 3, as well as annual repair of heating equipment were carried out.

Based on the assessment of all power plants, the final readiness index of Enel Russia for the heating season as of November 10, 2020 is 0.99.
