In 2005, Ilya Novozhilov graduated with honors from the Ural State Technical University as an engineer of thermal power plants. Also in parallel, he obtained a second higher education in the specialty "World Economy".

His total work experience in the energy industry is more than 15 years.

In 2005, Mr. Novozhilov began his career at Reftinskaya GRES as an operator for boiler equipment of 300 MW units.

A year later, he became a filed operator at a 300 MW power unit. Then there was promotion up the career ladder, thanks to which Ilya went through all the steps from the operator of a 300 MW power unit to the deputy chief engineer for the repair of 300 MW units - the head of department.

From 2016 until his appointment as director of Konakovskaya GRES, he served as chief engineer of 300 MW units at Reftinskaya GRES. In July 2017, Ilya Novozhilov was appointed director of Konakovskaya GRES of PJSC EL5-Energo.
