Local communities

People, their safety and wellbeing are of paramount importance to our Company. We are not just talking about the people who work within the perimeter of our Company, but also those who live in the territories where we operate.

It is important for us to contribute to solving to the major social and environmental issues in the regions where the Company operates. Our efforts and actions contribute to the development of society and strengthen the Company's position. Relying on local communities, we maintain an ongoing dialogue with them by involving socially oriented small and medium-sized enterprises, the non-profit sector and other local organizations in the development and implementation of social initiatives.

Each year we develop a Program of support and development of local communities, which includes all the major projects we plan to implement. Read about the socially significant projects supported by EL5-Energo in our social media, corporate news and Sustainability report.

The management of community engagement is as follows:

The process of community engagement is coordinated by the Head of the Sustainability Unit. Depending on specific tasks or processes, the engagement is supported by:

  • Head of Regulatory and Institutional Affairs, whose subordination structure includes regional representatives responsible for relations with local administrations and control over the implementation of sustainable development projects in the field.
  • Head of Communications, managing interaction with local and regional media and communications with residents through social networks.
  • Head of Internal Audit, whose functional unit receives and processes anonymous complaints, including from local residents.

If local residents have any questions about the environmental impact of the power plants and environmental protection, they can always send their questions or complaints to the head of the Environmental Department or use the feedback form.
