Stephane Zweguintzow appointed General Director of Enel Russia

Moscow, April 22nd, 2020 – The Board of Directors of PJSC Enel Russia appointed Stephane Zweguintzow as the General Director of the Company. Stephane will take the new office on May 1st. Mr. Zweguintzow will step down as Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Enel Russia.

In the position of General Director, he succeeds to Carlo Palasciano Villamagna who was heading the Company for the last five years and decided to continue his career within the perimeter of Enel Group. This important period was marked with Enel Russia’s start of diversification of technology profile towards lower carbon footprint. The Company disposed 3.8 GW of coal-fired Reftinskaya GRES from October 1st, 2019 and won 362 MW of wind capacity: Kolskaya WPP (201 MW) and Azovskaya WPP (90 MW) and Rodnikovskaya WPP (71 MW). Moreover, in thermal generation the Company was awarded modernization projects for 370 MW.

Mr. Zweguintzow has been working for Enel Group for more than 20 years. Specifically, he headed the Enel Moscow Office since its creation in 2000 until late 2007. During this period the management contract for the North-West Thermal Power Plant in St. Petersburg was signed as well as the acquisition of shares in OJSC OGK-5 (later OJSC Enel OGK-5 and now PJSC Enel Russia), LLC Rusenergosbyt, and LLC Severenergia. Further on, from 2008 until 2010 he headed the Russian Gas Department of Enel’s Upstream Gas Division. During the next three years, he headed the Business Development Department of Enel in France. In June 2013, Stephane was re-elected to the Board of Directors of OJSC Enel OGK-5 and in July of the same year the Board elected Mr. Zweguintzow as its Chairman.

Since 2014, Stephane Zweguintzow has been working for PJSC Enel Russia, serving as External Relations Director and heading the Company’s Sustainability department. In 2018 he was appointed as Director of People and Organization.

Stephane Zweguintzow was born in 1968 in France. Mr. Zweguintzow has a degree in international business from Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris. He started his career in 1992 in France in companies in the chemical and petrochemical industry, where he was involved in project management in Russia and Central Asia.

He is a native speaker of French and Russian and is fluent in English and Italian.
