Kolskaya WPP awarded the status of a strategic investment project of Murmansk region

  • State support for investment activities under the project is defined in a special investment contract
  • LLC Enel Rus Wind Kola is granted an exemption on corporate property tax for a period of five years


Murmansk, July 12th, 2021
 – According to the Order by the Murmansk region Governor, the investment project "Construction and subsequent operation of a wind farm «Kolskaya WPP» with installed capacity of 200.97 MW in the Kola district of the Murmansk region” awarded the status of a strategic investment project of the region. The project is executed by LLC “Enel Rus Wind Kola” – a 100% subsidiary of PJSC Enel Russia.

The Murmansk region Government and LLC Enel Rus Wind Kola concluded the special investment contract. The Governor Andrey Chibis signed the document from the side of the Murmansk region, and Enel Country Manager in Russia Stephane Zweguintzow – from the side of the company. During the term of the contract LLC Enel Rus Wind Kola is granted an exemption on corporate property tax for a period of five years.

19th September 2019, the construction of Kolskaya WPP in the Kola district of the Murmansk region started. Its installed capacity is 201MW, and nowadays it is the largest wind farm beyond the Arctic Circle in Russia under construction. The wind farm will be able to generate around 750 GWh per year, avoiding the emission of around 600,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year. The wind facility will consist of 57 turbines covering a 257-hectare area.
