Power engineers illuminated Konakovskaya power plant with Italian and Russian tricolors

During the night from June, 1 to June, 2, on the eve of the 74th anniversary of the Italian Republic, employees of Enel Russia, key asset of the International Energy Group Enel in Russia, illuminated Konakovskaya power plant with Italian and Russian tricolors. This action signifies a perfect union between the peoples of two countries in a difficult time for the whole world.  The chimneys of the power plant, which is the closest to Moscow production branch of Enel Russia, are lit up with the colors of the Italian flag and the power plant building - with the colors of the Russian one.

“The solid and solidary friendship between our peoples is a response to an unprecedented emergency situation all over the world. While self-isolated, we can’t visit our relatives, meet up with friends, go sightseeing. We stopped travelling and business trips got reduced to zero. We understand why personal contacts should be restricted but, in our thoughts, aspirations and plans we are still as open as before. At the company's power plants, we take all necessary measures to protect the health of our personnel and contractors from the possibility of infection. Italy and Russia have always had very warm relations and during this period the two countries demonstrated an outstanding and sincere example of it. We are here to provide energy and support to our friendship.”

– Carlo Palasciano Villamagna, Enel Country Manager in Russia

The three chimneys, two of them 180 meters and one 250 meters high, are lit up with twenty 2 KW lamps equipped with special red, white or green filters, each representing the color of the Italian flag.

The Russian flag, 8 meters high and 16 meters wide, is illuminated with 12 LED lamps, 100 W each, which are colored with the Russian tricolor.

The work of energy sector is crucial in this time and despite the virus all Enel Russia’s plants are fully operational with the people who are working hard there with all protective measures required in order to provide stable and reliable energy to the society.
