Winners of the tenth season of Play Energy in Russia

Secondary school students of Nevinnomyssk became the absolute winners of the 10th season of the Play Energy-2018 international project

The “Village of My Dream” work of 9th grade students of Nevinnomyssk School No. 16 was recognized as the best at the national stage of the tenth season of Play Energy.

The tenth anniversary season of Play Energy-2018 gathered a total of 585 works from 2,640 participants in two age categories, from 350 classes and 67 educational institutions located in 17 populated areas. The project covered three regions of Enel Russia Power Plants presence: Tver Region (Konakovskaya GRES), Stavropol Territory (Nevinnomysskaya GRES), Sverdlovsk Region (Reftinskaya and Sredneuralskaya GRES). The best works of the winning participants of the regional tour of the competition were reviewed on January 24 by the national jury in Moscow, at the Headquarters of PJSC Enel Russia.

The projects of the children presented by Nevinnomysskaya GRES won in both age categories. Ural students took the second place in the senior age category, the third place in the junior age category, as well as received five awards in special nominations.

The winner in the junior age category (grades 5-8) was the “Energy of Zeus” project from Nevinnomysskaya GRES by Kirill Slyusarenko, Gymnasium No. 10 LIK of Nevinnomyssk. The project supervisor is Svetlana Vladimirovna Kurneva. The author of the project proposes to use lightning discharges for energy generation. For the implementation thereof the author proposes to build special plants of a special design that will “catch” lightning and convert it into electricity.

The second place was taken by the “Multi-Charger for Vehicles” project announced for the competition by Konakovskaya GRES. Students of the 8th grade of Konakovo School No. 9 (the supervisor is Tamara Yuryevna Nabokova) became silver winners in the junior age category. The idea of the project was a hybrid mini-station for recharging vehicles using alternative energy sources. The station is a hybrid consisting of solar panels, a garbage recycling container, by using it one can save energy, recharge motor vehicles and battery vehicles, etc.

The “Piezoenergy and its Application” project by students of the 6th grade of school No. 17 of the village of Reftinsky is on the third place in the junior age category. The supervisor is Yuliya Alekseyevna Sadykova, a teacher of the Russian language. The students proposed the concept of transforming the energy of movement into electricity through the use of piezoelements in different options: - in the insoles of shoes for recharging mobile devices; - at stadiums for lighting different objects; - and on the roofs of sports facilities to obtain electrical energy from rain on the roof surface. The more steps a person takes, the healthier he/she becomes and the more energy he/she generates.

The “Village of My Dream” project from Nevinnomysskaya GRES by the 9th grade students of Secondary School No. 16 won gold in the senior age category (grades 9-11). The supervisor is Yelena Vladimirovna Kaleva. The students propose to use the power of moving and falling water for energy generation. The idea of the project was to build a special installation in a suitable territory. This installation will generate the energy required for domestic needs, as well as for lighting and heating.

The “Antis-Stress House” project by students of the 11th grade of Sredneuralsk school No. 31 won silver in the senior age category. The supervisor is Darya Andreyevna Kufayeva, a teacher of history and social studies. The idea of the project is as follows: human emotions can be an alternative source of energy. This idea is implemented through the design of the layout of the house, its rooms are adapted for the personal emotional needs of each person, ensuring mental and physical health.

The “Energy of Life” project by students of Konakovo Energy College won the third place in the senior age category. The supervisor is Svetlana Nikolayevna Zolina. The idea of the project: the project aims to save money and life, which is the most important thing! During the day, the solar cell battery accumulates energy from the sun. At night, before a pedestrian starts crossing the road, he/she will fall into the coverage area of the motion sensor. A LED lamp illuminates the path to the pedestrian. At the same time, he/she becomes visible to the driver of the vehicle. Thus, solar energy obtained during the day is used where it is expensive or impossible to arrange lighting.

By tradition, the jury singled out projects in special nominations. They paid attention to the most interesting projects in the field of sustainable development, as well as on five declared subjects: E-Home, E-Mobility, E-City, E-Power, E-World.

In the junior age category, the “Wind and Solar Energy – into the Energy of Movement!” project in the “e-mobility” field by students of the 8th grade of school No. 4 of Konakovo is marked. The supervisor is Konstantin Vladimirovich Kulagin. The students presented their project idea: the establishment of an electric filling station, where the energy is generated from sunlight and wind for it. The project is represented by a model of electric filling station made by students from lumber at joinery lessons.

In the “e-city” field the “Waste Water Energy” project by students of the 7th grade of Redkino village school No. 1 was marked. The supervisor is Marina Aleksandrovna Blinova. The students offered the idea of generating energy and lighting the emergency section of the road by means of sewage.

The winners of the nomination in the field of sustainable development among the junior age category were students of the 7th grade of Sredneuralsk school No. 6 with the SmartBox project. The students, together with the supervisor, who is a graduate student at the OINPE NRNU MEPhI, Yegor Alekseyevich Kolobov, presented their innovative integrated solution for the organization of garbage collection. It will complement and simplify the current waste collection system, provide control over the process of garbage collection and its effective arrangement. This motivates secondary school students to join the RSO system due to the motivation and transparency of the waste collection system using SmartBox in schools.

The winner in the field of “e-power” among the senior age category was the “Wind Turbines” project by students of Nevinnomyssk Energy Technical School, Nevinnomyssk. The supervisor is T.N. Ivanova. The students offer construction of vertical wind turbines. Due to their shape, they work regardless of wind field, since their design assumes that the air flow pressure on one of its sides will be higher than on the other. Due to this difference in pressure, the axis of the generator rotates and electricity is generated.

In the “e-home” field among the senior age category, the winner was the “Home of Our Dream” project by students of Asbest School No.& 4. The supervisor is Tatiana Ilinichna Korobeynikova, a teacher of geography. The students presented the concept of a smart house on the basis of the rule of three “E”: economy, environmental friendliness and energy efficiency. Based on these principles, a project of a dream home with the maintenance of a favorable microclimate and creation of conditions for a healthy lifestyle was developed. The house will use the energy of the sun, wind and will recycle waste.

The “Smart Island” project by students of Reftinsky village school No. 15 won in the field of “e-world” among the senior age category. The supervisor is Anna Mikhailovna Sadyrina, deputy headmaster for discipline. The students with the supervisor presented the development of a model of a self-sufficient island that will use renewable energy sources, including solar, wind and biomass energy for the generation of electricity.

The cartoon “School of the Future” by students of Asbest boarding school won in the nomination of sustainable development among the senior age category. The supervisor is Diana Aleksandrovna Litvinova. The students presented a model of the modern school of the future that will use renewable energy sources and will be built only from environmentally friendly materials. The project is presented in the form of an animated film, plasticine figures for the project were made by the students.

The “Formula for Good” project from the students of Asbest Polytechnic School won in the field of “Volunteer Initiative” in the senior age category. The supervisor is Alyona Vladimirovna Balabayeva. The students presented working layouts and videos that manufacture of busy boards and busy boxes for children's institutions will help make the world a better place. Such designs help children get acquainted with the amazing world of electricity and learn to handle household appliances.

For ten years of the existence of Play Energy in Russia, the projects submitted by Nevinnomysskaya GRES have become winners of the national stage of the competition two times. The authors of the works had the opportunity to visit Italy and attend the international award ceremony, standing on the same stage with peers from other countries of Enel presence.

Throughout the project, the inspirers and assistants to the project participants were employees who set the children on the right path of development. With the help of open lessons, excursions and tips, the students found their own unique idea for creating a project.

During the preparation process, participants were given the opportunity to visit power plants and ask all existing questions to technical specialists. As part of Play Energy-2018, 28 excursions to the company's power plants were conducted, and the personnel held 13 open lessons for inspiration and unleashing the participants’ potential.

For the tenth time, the PlayEnergy project helps participants from Ural, Tver Region and Stavropol Territory to unite with their peers from other countries of Enel presence for the common goal of creating something new and unique in the power industry.

Let us remember that the participants of the anniversary Play Energy-2018 were offered 5 inspiration ideas for creating their projects: E-Home, E-Mobility, E-City, E-Power, E-World. Projects in the "Sustainable Development" and "Volunteer Initiative" nominations were also marked.

It should be noted that due to the popularity and relevance of the competition held in 2015, the Play Energy project won a diploma of the 1st degree of the All-Russian competition of youth development and educational initiatives in the energy sector in the “Best practices of Russian and FEC companies in the development and implementation of educational, vocational and motivational projects for secondary school students, students of higher educational institutions and young professionals (under 35 years old)” nomination within the framework of the Youth Day of the ENES 2015 IV International Forum.
